Fascia and soffit repairs can usually wait for regular scheduling. Even in the event of rain, a 2x4 piece of wood can handle getting wet for a short time without lasting harm.

What should a roof repair estimate include?

A thorough roof repair estimate should include: clear identification of what is damaged and what will be fixed; a detailed list of materials including type, manufacturer, and color; scope of work and reasons for the repair; warranty details covering both workmanship and materials; labor and tear-off details including disposal and permits; and clear payment terms and exclusions. Do shingles have to be removed during repairs?

Most repairs are completed by removing only what is necessary and are done in a day or less.

What if the repair does not fix the leak?

A well-done repair on an otherwise healthy roof can last many years, sometimes for the rest of the roof's life. If the same area needs repairs again within a year or two, it may signal a deeper hidden problem such as damaged decking beneath the shingles.

How do I know if I need a roof repair or replacement?

Repair is the right call if: this is the first small issue such as one or two missing shingles or a minor leak; the roof is less than 15 years old and generally in good shape; damage is small and contained. Replacement is best if: the roof is 15 or more years old, especially with prior issues; shingles have been blowing off for months or there are leaks in multiple spots; you have fixed the same area more than once; there are widespread problems like soft spots or large patches of moss; or insurance will not renew due to roof age or damage.
